All clients are housed in the main lodge building. This helps fosters the interaction of all the guests and a bonding that adds to the lodge experience. Many enduring friendships have been formed in the common rooms at the Alagnak Lodge. The lodge has all the amenities you would expect: modern indoor plumbing, 24-hour electricity, phone and internet service, excellent food service, and housekeeping service, including personal laundry.
Please note this is not a four or five star hotel. The room sizes are relatively small and the three main floor bathrooms are shared by all clients and some staff.
Upstairs in the main lodge building we have 12 client bedrooms - 4 have a single queen size bed – 3 have a single twin bed -1 has two twin beds – 4 have three twin beds. The measurements of the six single rooms are 7 by 12 feet. The four larger rooms with three twin beds are 10 by 16 feet.
All bedrooms have a sink with cold drinking water. There is also a multi plug electrical outlet in each room There is a single toilet for light use in the upstair hallway.
Downstairs there are three full bathrooms with toilets, sinks and showers with lots of hot water. Our great room offers spectacular views of the river and is a great place to dine, relax, share fish stories with others, or take advantage of our well-stocked fly-tying bench. We also have separate small rooms to view videos, play cards or have quiet time alone. We even have a wood fired detached steam hut for those so inclined.
The support tents and structures house the staff accommodations, generators, workshop, storage, laundry and boat motors.
On the river, we have a floating polyethylene EZ Dock that is stable, safe and environmentally friendly. Often clients fish from the dock during their non guided session. The floating dock connects by a ramp to the standing dock with its 48 steps and cargo cart to the lodge plateau.
The dining is one of the highlights of the Alagnak Lodge experience. Top-quality ingredients are expertly prepared and presented buffet style so each guest is able to take as little or as much of each dish as they like.
