2018 Alaska Fishing Rate Structure
The rate is computed by number of days you spend fishing and this is your choice. We allow you to pick the length of your visit. Arrival and departure days are flexible within the constraints of our existing reservations. The early reservations establish the dates available for later reservations. Please call or email to inquire about specific dates.
The structure of the rates for 2018 is a base of $725 plus $725 per day. For instance, 7 days fishing would cost $725 + (7 x $725) = $5,800.
All rates include your flight transfers by floatplane between King Salmon and the lodge, as well as lodging, all meals, fully guided fishing, terminal tackle and processing and packaging of your salmon to take home. If you follow the standard procedure of arriving in the morning and departing in the afternoon, you will fish the afternoon and evening sessions on the arrival day then not fish at all on the day of departure. When you pay for 5 days you will spend 5 nights at the lodge and fish 10 sessions, 2 per day. Not included: Round-trip transportation from your home to King Salmon. Personal clothing and items of a personal nature. Fishing license and king salmon tags. Local borough taxes (currently $11 per person per day).
A 25% deposit is required to confirm the reservation. The 2nd 25% is due on January 31st. The balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.
Deposit and refund policy: Cancellations before December 31st will result in a 100% refund minus any third-party fees if applicable. Cancellations after December 31st will result in 100% of the deposit applied to a future reservation.
Tips have been a source of constant concern and anxiety, both to staff and to guests. For 2018 we are providing an option where you can prepay the tips as part of the invoice at the rate of $80 per day, or a higher rate if you so desire. All tips paid in this manner will be paid to only the on-site lodge personnel through payroll and be subject to all payroll taxes. The lodge owner and any off site personnel will not share in the tips. The cruise industry has proven that prepaid tips have increased service as the service personnel focus on providing the service and no longer have to be concerned about tips. The cruise industry has also set the fixed amount for tips as the model rather than eliminate tips altogether. We will follow their example except we will make participation in this tip pool optional for guests. Guests can make additional tips directly to any staff member at the lodge if they feel it is warranted. These tips are not subject to discounts.
We do a direct pass through of the cost of any flyouts. You can pay Branch River Air (BRA) directly when you take the flight or we can include it in your billing and we will pay BRA. A Cessna 206 with a weight limit of 850# for the guests and guide was $1,500 in 2017 and a Beaver with a 1,400# weight limit was $2,400. We will adjust to the actual rate charged once that is known.
Returning guests receive a 5% discount.
- Groups of 4 or more receive a 10% discount for all in the group.
- Non-fishing spouses and children under 15 receive a 50% discount.
- For those willing to wait until after May 15th to select their exact fishing time we offer a 25% discount. The available reservation periods will be selected on a first come, first served basis based on the date the deposit is received. If the guest decides a suitable date is not available, the deposit will be returned in its entirety.
